Philco 20 Speaker Good Voice Coil & Output Transformer OPEN FIELD Winding! 1930

Offered is the Philco 20 speaker.  The speaker is in good overall condition, it is 8 5/8 inches in diameter with mounting holes at 7 7/8 inches measured across the diameter of the speaker.  The paper cone is damaged at the edge in one spot-visible in photos, but overall, it is in decent shape.  The frame is also clean and in good condition with minimal rust and no heavy pitting.  The cord and plug are also in good condition, with some fraying where the cord wires go into the frame, the rubber grommet on the cord is in good condition, it is visible in photos. The speaker field winding measures OPEN.  The output transformer primary windings are as follows: .217K and .246K (.461K measured across both windings). The output transformer is bolted to the frame, not riveted-it may be a replacement. The voice coil measures about 1 ohm.  The speaker makes pops and noises when tested with a battery at the plug pins for the output transformer connections. These speakers were issued with the Philco 20 and 21 radios. They will also work with the model 90 with (2) output tubes. Pick up the speaker for your own radio restoration.  Over 6 pounds packed up.
