Very high temperature Neodymium motor system with MASSIVE Heatsink. This heatsink is much larger than lesser units that only look similar. Just look at the pictures to compare. This one is a beast, the REAL deal. Perfectly at home for high-sensitivity pro-audio speaker systems, where it would replace a standard compression driver. Perfect for line-array implementation.
I have successfully used these (for trial purposes) mated to a 10" midbass crossed over at ~1200Hz, with EQ to flatten, with amazing, lively, crisp, uncoloured & un-compressed sound output even at the highest ear-bleeding, soul-crushing levels! See the picture above that I just recently attached to show this testing.
Extra diaphragms available for purchase separately, as well.  Contact me.
I have also included pictures of some measurements of Frequency response to show how consistent these units are, based on my findings. Output response falls withing a very tight snap window, in my opinion. Distortion performance was much more difficult to obtain a good picture due to room reflections and microphone SPL input limitations, so those should be taken with a grain of salt if you like. They were low-level measurements with approximately 2.87V RMS.
► ►  I have since added a higher-powered Distortion sweep measurement.  Average THD from 1,200 to 10,000 Hz is a
    very respectable
2.4% with approx 20W input !  Even though they are rated only down to 3kHz by the manufacturer, that doesn't take into account that Equalization can be applied actively or passively through the crossover.  As you can see from the last picture, the distortion is very well controlled (in my opinion) all the way down to about 1,200 Hz.  It only skyrockets once you get lower than this into the 1,100Hz range and below. The sheer output at these levels is deafening.  I have to wear both earplugs AND large earmuffs.  Approx 115dB @ 1m/109 dB @ 2m/103 dB @ 4m.   Amplifier was a Peavey IPR2 7500, so the actual distortion performance might show up better on a good class A/B ampliifier.  ◄ ◄
Since electronics, rooms, ambient conditions, measurement techniques, etc, vary widely, there is no stated nor implied guarantee that those measurements can be duplicated exactly by another person, due to the aforementioned reasons.
