This stunning 1936 Packard Eight Sedan is a rare, luxurious pre-war automobile that has been beautifully restored. By 1936, the economy began to recover and Packard's sales started to rebound. Packard's offerings at the time were divided between its traditional more-expensive senior automobiles (including the Eights, Super Eights, and Twelves) and its newer, cheaper 120 models for the more budget-conscious consumer. This particular '36 Packard Sedan is an Eight (1400 Series), meaning that it was the smallest of the Senior Packards. Being that this Packard is a 1400 Series car, it is a Classic Car Club of America (CCCA) Full Classic. In total, Packard produced 3,973 Eights in 1936 and the Eight Sedan had an initial purchase price of ,385, which was more than twice as much as the cheaper 120 Sedans. This particular Packard was originally delivered to Packard Chicago on March 21, 1936. Powering this '36 Packard Eight is a 320 Cubic Inch L-Head Straight 8 with a single barrel Stromberg carburetor that pushed out 130 horsepower in 1936. The 320 Straight 8 is mated to a 3 Speed Manual Transmission that is shifted with the floor mounted shifter. This antique '36 Packard is equipped with dual covered side-mounted spare tires and 4 suicide doors which give this classic Packard an elevated exterior look. Refinished in beautiful Packard Cream exterior paint, this Packard 8 has a great look and stands out in a crowd. This 1936 Packard sits on 4 wide whitewall bias-ply tires wrapped around red painted wire wheels which set off the exterior look of the car. The interior in this Packard is absolutely stunning. The front and rear bench seats, along with the door panels, headliner, and visors have been recovered in beautiful tan leather and they are in excellent condition. The beige carpeting covering the floors and rear footrest all appear to be in fantastic shape as well. The ____ woodgrain dash is equipped with a 120 MPH speedometer, gas gauge, amp gauge, temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge, clock and radio. Whether you're looking for a true classic to add to your collection or you're looking for your very first one, this 1936 Packard Eight Sedan is an excellent choice. Give us a call today!
